The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) has dissolved the State Elders Committee and suspended five chieftains for alleged anti-party activities.

Starnews Nigeria reports that the announcement is coming barely 24 hours a delegation of Ondo State PDP leaders led by Senator Nicholas Tofowomo paid a visit to former Governor Fayose at his residence in Ikeja, Lagos State Capital.

The delegation yesterday passed a vote of confidence on Fayose and condemned what they described as the self serving attitude of Governor Makinde.

Starnews Nigeria gathered that the dissolution and suspension of the leaders might not be unconnected with the Lagos visit to the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose following the leadership crisis rocking the party in the southwest.

In statement by Kennedy Peretei, the State Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Ondo State, the party asked the suspended leaders to stop parading themselves as members of the PDP immediately.

While putting it on record that the State Executive Committee of the PDP in Ondo State did not send any delegation to anywhere to represent the Party, the Ondo State PDP alleged that the affected leaders were suspended for anti-party activities.

The full statement reads:

”Pursuant to Section 58(1)(a)(b)(f)and (h)of the Peoples Democratic Party Constitution (2017 as Amended) the under listed persons are hereby suspended indefinitely from the party for anti-party activities and gross misconduct:

1.Chief Oyedele Ibini
2.Hon. Lad Ojomo

3. Mr.Ayo Fadaka
   4.Hon. Rasheed Elegbeleye
4. Hon. Ebenezer Alabi.

By this decision, they are expected to stop parading themselves as members of the party. All organs of the party are to take note in this regard.

They stand suspended until the outcome of the report of the State Disciplinary Committee.

In another development, the State Working Committee on has dissolved the State Elders Committee. In accordance with the provisions of our constitution (2017 as Amended), another State Elders Committee will be constituted in due course.

We also want to put it on record that, the State Executive Committee of the PDP in Ondo State did not send any delegation to anywhere to represent the Party. Whoever lays claim to such is an impostor and does not represent the opinions of our teaming supporters in the State,” the PDP said.

Meanwhile, Starnews Nigeria can report that the South-West Peoples Democratic Party is facing major crisis as the leader of the party in the region, Governor Seyi Makinde appears to be facing a supremacy battle with former governor Fayose of Ekiti State.
