Ondo Govt Begins Recruitment Of Workers Into Ministry

The Ondo State Government has announced the commencement of recruitment into the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, calling on suitably qualified candidates to apply for available positions in the state’s civil service.

In a public service announcement released by the Ondo State Civil Service Commission, the government invited applications for the post of Cultural and Tourism Officers (Grade Level 08) as part of efforts to strengthen the workforce in the ministry.

According to the notice signed by Omotayo Akeju, the Administrative Secretary of the Commission, the recruitment portal — www.odsgcivilservicecomm.org.ng — opened on Thursday, October 23, 2025, and will close on Thursday, October 30, 2025.

Applicants are expected to meet the following requirements:

Must have completed the mandatory NYSC programme (where applicable)
Must be physically and mentally fit
Must be not more than 45 years old
Must possess a Certificate of State of Origin duly signed by a recognized authority
Must submit a Birth Certificate or Age Declaration Affidavit
For qualification, the government specified that:

Candidates applying as Cultural Officers must possess a degree in Fine Arts, Music, Theatre Arts, English Literature, Linguistics, or Journalism from a recognized university.

Applicants for the post of Tourism Officer must hold a degree in Arts, Tourism, or the Social Sciences from a recognized institution.

The Commission urged interested candidates to apply early to avoid last-minute network hitches, emphasizing that the recruitment exercise would be conducted strictly on merit.

The exercise is part of the Aiyedatiwa-led administration’s ongoing efforts to revitalize the state’s civil service and promote the tourism and cultural sector as key drivers of economic development in Ondo State.
