–As Group Slam Ondo government officials for politicising Struggle

–Appreciates Akeredolu for town hall meeting

Four local governments of Ondo South, Okitipupa, Irele, Ese Odo and Ilaje, under the agesis of the Bring Back Our Group, BBOL, have given kudos to vice-president Yemi Osinbajo and Pastor Johnson Tomisin Kalejaiye, Special Assistant to the General Overseer of the Reedemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), over the recent intervention of the federal governement to put an end to the aged long darkness affecting the four local governments.

In a statement signed by its coordinator, pastor Olumide Akinrinlola, the group described Osinbajo as God-sent while it commended Kalejaiye for using his influence and closeness to the VP to solicit for federal government intervention on behalf of the affected communities which has yielded positive result.

The group also commended Engr. Oyedele Ifeoluwa, the Executive Director of the Niger Delta Power Holding for playing a major roles.

While commeding the state governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for the town hall meeting recently held with the people of the affected councils, the group slammed some government officials for playing politics with the agony of the people.

Akinrinlola said that the people of the affected areas are not happy over the blackouts especially on how some government officials are now playing politics with the agony of the people.

The full statement read:

“The people of Ondo South in Ilaje, Irele, Ese Odo and Okitipupa local governments in Ondo State under the aegis of the Bring Back Our Light Group, wishes to appreciate Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo over the recent intervention of the federal government to take the people of the affected councils out of darkness created in Our land by the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC).

This new development was as a result of the agitation of our people in Ondo South and majorly, the involvement and unrelentless efforts of pastor Jonhson Tomisin Kalejaiye of RCCG, the special assistant to the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God who used his influence and closeness to the VP to lobby for the intervention of the federal government to help us out of the lingering blackouts in Ondo South.

We are not also unaware of the complementing effort of Engr. Ifeoluwa Oyedele, our son from Igodan-Okitipupa who happen to be an executive director in the Niger Delta Power Holding Company.

The Vice -president, Prof Yemi Osinbajo is the Angel that God sent to our people in Ondo South with persistence appeals to him by our son, pastor Kalejaiye, who is also from Ilaje local government of Ondo State.

We appreciate the governor too for showing concern especially for his humility to have come down to hold a town hall meeting with our people after which he became clearer that the various agitations and efforts by our peoples have attracted the intervention of the federal government.

But we hereby condemn in its entirety, the act of playing politics with the agony of our people by some government functionaries under the Akeredolu led state government, to the extent that, our group, the BBOL team , which has been in the forefront of the struggle to restore power to our people was not allowed to produce any representative to talk during the town hall meeting for fear of speaking objectively and putting the record straight to the people, being the group who knows the nitty gritty, genesis and the revelation, of the blackouts especially much about the recent intervention by the federal government.

Though we appreciate governor Akeredolu for not allowing his men to drag him into politicising our agony when he obviously credited the breakthrough to the vice president.

Having said this, we wish to appeal to the governor to help call his men to order not to politicise our agony any further as our people are not happy over the blackouts in our land.

We return all the glory to God and believe there will be light at the end of the tunnel, the statement added.
