After several denials, the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) has admitted that its National leader and former Ondo Governor , Dr. Olusegun Mimiko met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo over possible alliance with the Peoples Democratic Party,(PDP) ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

It said the talks did not yield any results after Mimiko opened Obasanjo eyes to true situation of things.

National Chairman of the party, Chief Dan Nwayanwu, disclosed this in a television interview monitored by our correspondent in Akure.

Nwayanwu said Dr. Mimiko met with Obasanjo and issues about alliance were discussed.

Nwayanwu said Obasanjo was shocked after Mimiko told him some things.

He however insisted he ZLP is going into the Saturday’s poll to win.

His words: “That is correct. Obasanjo met with Mimiko. Obasanjo was shocked about some things Mimiko told him.

“We are already in the ballot. We are not in agreement with any party. The Ondo people want us back. They got dividend of democracy when Mimiko was there.

“Agboola Ajayi will win the election on Saturday.”
