Ondo 2020: Third force will take third position – PDP chair warns party members

The State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Hon. Fatai Adams has warned members of the PDP not to join the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) which is being described as the ’third force’ ahead of the gubernatorial election slated for October 10, 2020.

Starnews NG reports that Fatai gave this warning while addressing PDP stakeholders at the Party’s Secretariat in Akure on Tuesday.

The PDP Chairman stated categorically that third force has never worked in the history of Ondo State politics.

In a statement by Leye Igbagbo, the Assistant Director of Publicity of the Party, the chairman was quoted to have said: ”the contest has always been a straight fight between two leading political parties at any given time. In 2003, it was a straight fight between Chief Adebayo Adefarati of the AD and Dr Olusegun Agagu of the PDP.”

”In 2007, AD was faced out and it became a straight fight between Dr Agagu of the PDP and Dr Segun Mimiko of the Labour Party. But when Chief Olusola Oke sprung up the third force agenda in AD as the gubernatorial candidate in 2016 election, he came a distant third. And when Dr Mimiko went to ZLP to contest for senate, he met a brick wall and came third in the contest. So third force is a third position that will not take any of you near the Alagbaka government house. You must learn from history” the chairman warned.
