In this interview with Akinrinlola Olumide, Chief Editor of Starnews NG, the Ondo State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Engr Clement Faboyede, has said that the good people of Ondo State should decide which government pays them better between the opposition PDP and the ruling APC as the state prepares for the gubernatorial election on October 10, 2020.

Sir, Ondo State people said the opposition PDP in Ondo State is too weak especially for not saying anything about the N4.3b secret account uncovered by the state government which has generated so much noise on social media and has consequently led to the exchange of words between the State House of Assembly and the State Government. What is your reaction as the chairman of the party in Ondo State?

”PDP is not weak based on our antecedents, where we are coming from, what we have achieved in the last election. We won two out of three Senate seats, three out of nine House of Representatives seats. The incumbent got 4, we had the best Presidential result in the whole of the South West and 7th position in the whole of Nigeria”

“We did ward and LG congresses peacefully, can APC go for congresses now? No!

“If anybody is talking about 4.:3b naira, is PDP anchoring the bank of the state? Is it not the APC blowing the whistle; they are the whistleblower and they blew it, what’s our business? It is clear to everybody in the state that the APC government is not the best.”

”Let the people judge in terms of health, education, community development, etc..”

Ok sir, but now what is your message for the good people of Ondo State as the State prepares for the gubernatorial election on October 10?

”Ondo State people have seen it all. Faboyede doesn’t have to talk, PDP does not need to carry AK 47 to meet Akeredolu at the statehouse. The people are at liberty to decide. They should decide which one pays them better between the PDP and the APC government .”

”Is it the PDP Government or APC Government? Let them decide. They should decide between a straightforward government, a government of empathy, a government of authority, a government of downtrodden, a government of down to heart, a government of sensibility and feasibility, a government of noctured-culture, a government of fundamental culture, or otherwise. So, let them decide which one pays them.”

”It is not for Faboyede to start abusing the governor. I would never abuse any government and I would never abuse Akeredolu. But between now and four to five years ago when Mother and Child Hospital is functioning, or otherwise, the people should decide.”

”They should decide between when Education is almost ruined and when our students in higher institutions are being attended to with affordable tuition. Ondo State people should decide when it is a government to bottom approach when people can say this is what we want and it is done for them or otherwise.”

”They should decide between when people can talk to the government, when Obas ( royal fathers) could speak without being humiliated or otherwise, the people should decide, I rest my case.”
