The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has adjusted its petrol prices across retail outlets, lowering the pump price from N945 per litre to N860 per litre.
According to Politics Nigeria, although the company has yet to issue an official statement, reports indicate that several NNPCL stations, particularly in Lagos, have already begun selling at the new rate. As expected, pricing may vary across different regions.
This reduction comes shortly after Dangote Refinery slashed its ex-depot petrol price from N890 to N825 per litre, a move that likely influenced NNPCL’s decision.
The adjustment was confirmed by Hammed Fashola, National Vice President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), who noted that while the price change has not been updated on the NNPCL portal, efforts are underway to reflect it.
Billy Gillis-Harry, National President of the Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN), also affirmed the price revision, signaling a significant development in the downstream oil sector.
