Nicholas Tofowomo Writes Ondo South Over Supplementary Election

The Senatorial Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo South, Otunba Nicholas Tofowomo, has written the good people of the district and the general public, intimating them of the status update over the inconclusive results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the Senatorial district.

In a statement signed by pastor Olumide Akinrinlola, his director of Media and Publicity, Tofowomo called on the people to eschew violence and prepare for the Supplementary election fixed for Saturday next week alongside the state house of assembly election in the state.

The full statement reads:

“Dear good people of Ondo South,

“This is to intimate you that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC ) will conduct supplementary election across the southern Senatorial district of Ondo-State on Saturday alongside State House of Assembly Election to formally conclude the Senatorial election of the district which was declared inconclusive last week by INEC.

“In the official result declared so far by INEC, I scored 79,029 votes while my closest revival, Senator Yele Omogunwa polled 51,993 votes.

“I am presently leading the incumbent Senator with a margin of 27,036 votes.

“It may interest you and the general public to know that the number of cancelled units as officially released by INEC is 52 with 28, 047 number of registered voters in the affected areas.

“We had reliably gathered that the number of permanent voters’ cards (PVC) collected in these affected areas are less down 20, 000. Though INEC will officially publish the number of PVC collected in the affected units on or before Tuesday next week.

“It is necessary I update you with this information for you and the entire world to know this fact and take note of the above for record purposes as the supplementary election approaches.

“While thanking you all for casting your votes for me enmass last week Sarturday, I wish to let you know that it is not yet over not until I am officially declared by INEC as the duly elected Senator of Ondo South in Ondo State.

“There is no cause for alarm. Do not be despaired nor distracted. Let’s eschew violence and tolerate our neighbours regardless of our political differences. Don’t fight anyone even if they provoke you to anger.

“The devices of the enemies had been frustrated already. We are winning this election and we are 101% sure of victory.

“My ambition is God’s project enveloped by Divine Favour. I already put everything into the hands of God and we are all going to see God’s hands in everything by next week Saturday.

“God has finished His work and whatever God has finished cannot finish us.

“Thank you and God bless,” the statement added.
