NGO flags off distribution of school sandals in Okitipupa

A non govermental organisation, Safe Future Foundation, on Friday, flagged off the distribution of free school sandals to primary school pupils of Okitipupa Local Government of Ondo State.

Starnews reports that the programme was flagged off at L.A Primary School, Iju-Odo, in Okitipupa local goverment of Ondo State.

The convener of Safe Future Foundation (SFF), Comrade Sunday Arogbo said, the aim of the organisation is to touch the lives of the people at the grassroots level.

Speaking at the event, the chairman of Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, Omoba Abayomi Adesanya, charged the primary school pupils to face their studies as leaders of tomorrow.

He said quality education is needed in various communities of the country to have a better Nigeria in the nearest future.

He commended SFF for executing various projects and programmes which in the past includes: Youth summit, leadership and entrepreneurship training,  and educational summit since 5 years of its existence. 

After the flag off, the school Sandals  were distributed to over 200  pupils which cut across L.A Primary School, Iju-Odo, St. Pius Primary School Igbotako, just to mention a few.

During the flag off ceremony, Mr Akinwonmi Aanu, father to one of the beneficiaries, appreciated SSF for the kind gesture. He however called on the goverment to do more in the area of infrastructure and recruitment of quality teachers for primary schools in Ondo State.

The program would continue next week according to Mr. Arogbo.
