NBBF Release 12-Man Roster For FIBA World Cup Qualifiers

Ahead of the third window of the FIBA African World cup qualifier, Nigeria Basketball Federation ( NBBF) has released the list of 12 players that will represent the country, Starnews gathered

 

Nigeria will return to the international scene after a self-imposed 2-year ban was lifted last week by the government.

 

According to the list released on Tuesday morning, seven of the players invited are based outside the shores of the country, four are playing at home and one is free agent.

 

 

Nigeria sit atop group A with five points from three games. During this window, 16 teams will compete for the second leg of matches earlier decided in November 2021 and March 2022.

 

 

The top three teams from each group will advance to the second round where each team will play six games. The two top teams in each group, along with the best third-placed team, will qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.

 

The qualifier will take place at the famous BK Arena in Kigali from June 27th to July 5th 2022.
