The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Joint Campus Council (JCC), Ondo Axis, has commended the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for his youth-driven approach to governance, particularly in the education and empowerment sectors.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Comrade Oluwarotimi Tobiloba Joshua, NANS described the governor’s administration as one that genuinely prioritizes the interests of students and young people in the state.
The student body praised the governor for organising the Easter Leadership Retreat for student union leaders across tertiary institutions in the state, describing the initiative as a strategic platform that fostered inclusion, dialogue, and stronger student-government relations.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa has demonstrated uncommon commitment to youth development through meaningful engagement and proactive policies. His administration’s open-door policy is commendable,” the statement read.
NANS also highlighted the governor’s interventions in the education sector, including the payment of salary arrears to lecturers of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, the disbursement of N1.2 billion for infrastructure development at Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, and the payment of WAEC fees for secondary school students.
Additionally, the union acknowledged ongoing recruitment of teachers and youth empowerment programmes, noting that thousands of young people across the state have benefited from entrepreneurship grants, skill acquisition training, and other support schemes.
The students further urged the state’s Ministry of Justice and Student Affairs Office to deepen engagement with student leaders and continue supporting youth-inclusive governance.
Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration has in recent months been widely praised for prioritizing education, youth participation, and capacity development as part of its broader agenda for sustainable development in Ondo State.
