Many units didn’t get electoral materials in Ondo LG election

Many polling units did not get electoral materials in the ongoing local government election in Ondo State, Starnews Nigeria Correspondents have gathered.

voter apathy was also apparent in all the local governments across Ondo State while thugs loyal to some candidates reportedly snatched away ballot boxes in some polling units, Starnews Nigeria can report.

There were no electoral materials at MOFERERE USAMA – Unit 5 and 6 in Oke-Igbo Ward of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo LG as at press time.

It was a similar story at Unit 14 and 17 of Ayeka/Igbodigo/Okunmo Ward in Okitipupa LG. Also in Okitipupa Ward 1, Unit 15 of Farm settlement, no electoral materials were sighted when our correspondent visited.

In Ilaje Local Government, at Etikan Ward, Unit 7, 8, 9, and 12, electoral materials were not at the polling boots when Starnews Nigeria correspondents visited.

Councillorship electoral materials were also not available in all the units of Ikaramu ward 10 in Akoko North East as at the time of this report.

At Ward 1, unit 1 of Ondo West Local Government, thugs led by a purported APC councillorship candidate reportedly hijacked ballot box and took it away to an unknown destination as at the time of filing this report.

It was the same story in Ward 4, Unit 19 of Akure South Local Government at Omolere/Jegede’s Campaign Office, the ballot box at the unit was snatched away by hoodlums.

Though the election was relatively peaceful in a few local governments of the state, voters apathy were, however, recorded across board, Starnews Nigeria can authoritatively report.
