List of Nigerian Unions that joined national strike over minimum wage

The ongoing nationwide strike embarked on by the organized labour has paralyzed activities in every sector of the country.

The NLC on Friday, 31st May announced a nationwide strike following the failure of the federal government to reach an agreement with the organized labour on the New minimum wage for Nigerian workers.

The government had tabled #60,000 before the representatives of the organized labour as the proposed new minimum wage for workers nationwide, which was turned down by the union leaders.

Starnews NG reports that many unions as well as government parastatals at all the tiers of government have joined the nationwide industrial action.

Here is a list of the unions that have joined the ongoing nationwide protests as compiled by Starnews NG:

PENGASSAN members.

Bank staff.

Nigeria Union of Petroleum and
Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG).

Members Electricity workers.

Nigeria Union of Maritime Workers.

Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT).

Judiciary workers.

Public hospitals.

Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU).

Railway workers.

Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, (FAAN) among others.

Likewise Secretariats of federal, state and local government have been shut down by the striking workers.
