Lagos State Government has approved the constitution of a new Governing Council for the Lagos State University (LASU), with Ogala appointed as the chairman.

The approval, which was contained in an official circular signed on Friday by the Head of Service, Bode Agoro, followed the assent of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to the 11-man council list.

Agoro, in the statement, said the move reaffirms the Sanwo-Olu administration’s commitment to strengthening governance in state-owned higher institutions and improving the quality of tertiary education in Lagos.

“In continuation of this administration’s commitment to improve the quality of education in the State-owned higher institutions, it is hereby notified for general information that Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, has approved the membership of the Lagos State University Governing Council,” the circular read in part.

The newly constituted council is expected to provide strategic leadership and drive academic excellence, infrastructure development, and policy direction for the university.
