Renowned Kannywood actor Abdullahi Shuaibu, widely known as Karkuzu, has passed away at the age of 94.
He died on Tuesday at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), leaving a lasting legacy in the Nigerian film industry.
The actor’s death has deeply saddened many in Kannywood, where he was cherished for his talent, strength, and dedication to acting.
His contributions to the industry spanned decades, during which he brought many unforgettable characters to life on screen.
Despite health challenges in his later years, Karkuzu remained active in his career, inspiring younger actors with his commitment and passion.
On Wednesday morning, his funeral prayer took place, drawing a large crowd of mourners, including family members, friends, and colleagues from the entertainment industry.
His son, Dalhatu Abdullahi, described his father’s passing as a painful loss to the family, recalling the wisdom and guidance Karkuzu offered throughout his life.
A close friend and fellow actor, Sani Mu’azu, also remembered Karkuzu fondly, describing him as a dedicated professional who excelled at playing both comedic and serious roles.
Mu’azu emphasized how Karkuzu’s talent and resilience left a lasting impact on Kannywood and the people who had the privilege of knowing him.
Karkuzu is survived by his wife and six children.
