JUST IN: Shock in Ondo as Okada Rider Found Dead in well

Panic has gripped residents of Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, following the gruesome killing of a commercial motorcyclist whose body was found in a well behind the town’s stadium along Okitipupa Road.

The victim, identified as Isah Ibrahim, was reportedly attacked by unidentified assailants who also made away with his red Bajaj motorcycle. His remains were later recovered from the well, sparking outrage and fear among locals.

According to eyewitnesses, the deceased had conveyed a passenger to the area before he was ambushed. The attackers allegedly killed him and dumped his body in the well to conceal the crime.

“The motive behind the killing is not yet clear, but it is strongly suspected to be a case of motorcycle snatching, which has become rampant in Ore and its environs,” a community source told reporters.

Confirming the incident, a security source said detectives have launched a manhunt for the perpetrators, adding that efforts are underway to curb the surge in violent crimes targeting motorcyclists.

The development has triggered heightened anxiety among commercial motorcyclists in Ore, many of whom lamented the rising wave of attacks on their colleagues while on duty. They called on security agencies to intensify patrols and ensure that those behind the killing are brought to justice.

As at press time, Ibrahim’s murder has deepened fears in the community, with residents urging authorities to take urgent steps to safeguard lives and property.
