The Senate on Wednesday held a minute silence to mourn Senator Hosea Oladapo Ehinlawo, the former Senator representing Ondo South Senatorial District at the National Assembly between 2003 to 2011.
Coming under Order 43 of the Senate Rules, the Vice-Chairman, Senate Committee on Land Transport, Senator Nicholas Tofowomo – SNT, drew the attention of his colleagues to the demise of Senator Hosea Ehinlawo.
He said: “I bring to the attention of the Senate, the death of Senator Hosea Oladapo Ehinlawo, a former Senator representing Ondo South Senatorial District on October 29, 2021, at the age of 83.“
Starnews Nigeria reports that the President of the Senate, Dr. Ahamad Lawan, ruled for a minute silence to honour the late Lawmaker who was at the forefront of the third term agenda of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
In their usual and customary practice, the Senate went into a minute silence. “May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” Lawan said as other senators responded with a chorus of amen.
