JUST IN: APC Affirms Governor Oyebanji as Consensus Candidate for 2026 Ekiti Governorship Election

By: Sunday Ameh

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially endorsed Governor Biodun Oyebanji as its consensus candidate for the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State.

The decision was reached on Monday during a high-level party meeting in Ado-Ekiti, attended by key stakeholders, including state and national party leaders.

The motion for Oyebanji’s adoption was moved by Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and seconded by Stephen Aribasoye, Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, signifying broad support across the party hierarchy.

Party members at the meeting reportedly expressed confidence in Governor Oyebanji’s leadership and performance, describing him as a “unifying figure” who has delivered on his mandate since assuming office.

With the endorsement, Oyebanji is now set to represent the APC in the upcoming poll, barring any late opposition before the official primaries.
