INEC Says CVR Resumption Date Not Set Yet

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has made it clear that it has not fixed a date for when the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will restart.

This update comes as many Nigerians wonder when they will be able to register, transfer, or replace their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 elections.

INEC explained on Sunday that no schedule has been released yet for these services.

According to the commission, there is no set date for voters who want to transfer their registration or replace lost PVCs.

The commission also warned Nigerians to ignore false messages being shared online, especially those claiming that the services will resume on May 27.

These fake messages have been spreading across social media, creating confusion among the public.

INEC’s Chief Press Secretary, Rotimi Oyekanmi, stressed through the commission’s official X (formerly Twitter) page that only official announcements from INEC’s verified channels should be trusted.

He assured that whenever the commission is ready to restart the voter registration process, it will make a formal announcement to inform everyone.
