Ijora-Marine Bridge to Close for Repairs For 21 Days

The Federal Government has announced that the Ijora-Marine Bridge in Lagos will be temporarily closed from May 18 for urgent repairs.

The closure, which will last for 21 days, is part of efforts to carry out necessary maintenance on the bridge.

The closure will begin at 7 a.m. on Sunday, May 18.

Some sections of the bridge will be fully closed while others will have partial closures during this period.

The repairs include replacing worn-out bearings and other essential maintenance work to improve the bridge’s safety and comfort for all users.

Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, explained that traffic diversions have been arranged to ensure a smooth flow of vehicles.

Traffic officials will also be present to assist motorists and reduce any disruptions.

Residents, commuters, and businesses in the area have been advised to plan their movements in advance and cooperate during the repair period.

Safety signs and traffic management measures will be put in place to reduce the impact on daily activities.

The government expressed appreciation for the public’s patience during this time.
