Husband Arrested for Setting Wife Ablaze in Ogun

A 55-year-old man, Olubunmi Johnson, has been arrested by the Ogun State police for allegedly setting his wife, Kikelomo, on fire after a domestic argument. The incident occurred around 8:30 pm on Friday at the couple’s residence on Fagbuyi Street, Ilogbo, Ota.

According to Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, Johnson reportedly doused his wife with petrol before setting her alight. While the exact reason for the dispute remains unclear, it is known that Kikelomo’s family contacted the authorities after the attack.

A witness quickly took Kikelomo to the hospital, and police officers from the Ilogbo Division were dispatched to the scene, where they arrested Johnson. He is currently under investigation for attempted murder. Odutola confirmed that the suspect was apprehended without delay after the attack.
