A Former commissioner for Communication in Edo State, Emwanta Adaze has alleged that Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu was stopped by Governor Obaseki’s security from attending a party meeting at the Governor’s residence. He said in an interview with Channels Tv that Philip Shaibu was initially not invited to the meeting despite the role he played in helping the PDP candidates to win at the Federal Court and Supreme Court.

He said, ”There was a meeting at the Governor’s residence where the issues of principal offices will be resolved. Firstly, the deputy governor was not invited to this meeting. And of course before now, it was the deputy governor and I who co-ordinated all the cases of all the PDP candidates from Federal Court to the Supreme Court.

Having played that role, courtesy demands that he was supposed to be invited for that meeting. The deputy governor went to Obaseki’s residence for the meeting but he was rudely turned back by the governor’s security. And after several harassments on that day, the deputy governor had to go back to his house.
