GWR: Chef Adeola Completes 150-hour Cook-a-thon in Ondo

In an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking hours set by Hilda Baci, an Ondo-based Nigerian chef, Adeyeye Adeola Blessing has completed a 150-hour long cooking marathon in Ondo State.

Chef Adeola, 26, achieved the feat in the early hours of Friday.

Chef Deo, who announced the cooking marathon a few days ago, said that she had alerted GWR of her intentions and received the go-ahead before beginning the cook-a-thon in an effort to beat Baci’s record of 93 hours and 11 minutes.

The graduate of Esae University, Cotonou, Benin Republic, began the competition on June 30, 2023, in Ile-Oluji, the headquarters of Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo Local Government Area of the state.

In the course of the competition, she has prepared an extensive menu featuring a wide range of dishes and various delicacies.

Meanwhile, Chef Deo’s attempt to break the GWR has begun to generate significant interest and support from her community and beyond.

Food enthusiasts, fellow cooks, and media outlets have flocked to the community to witness the record-breaking endeavour firsthand.
