Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has told his supporters to stop making decisions or taking steps on his behalf without his approval.
He gave this warning during a gathering held in honour of the late elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, on Sunday. The event was organised by the Rivers Elders and Leaders Forum.
Fubara explained that although many of his supporters mean well, their actions could end up making his situation worse instead of better.
He said he understands his current condition more than anyone else and knows the best way to deal with it.
He added that certain moves made without his knowledge can disrupt the process he is trying to follow to find peace and progress.
Speaking firmly, the governor made it clear that anyone planning to speak or act in his interest must first ask for his permission.
He said he was speaking publicly so that no one would misinterpret his message or think it was meant for just a few people.
Fubara also stated that he is not in a hurry to return to office.
His focus, for now, is on handling matters the way he believes is best for him.
