The federal government has moved to complete plans for the emergency return of Nigerians stuck in Israel and Iran, as the crisis between both countries enters its seventh day.
This was made known by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, through a statement released by the ministry in Abuja.
The government is responding to the rising tension in the region by arranging the safe return of its citizens.
Nigerians currently in Israel and Iran have been asked to stay alert, follow safety instructions, and reach out to the nearest Nigerian embassy or consulate for registration and updates.
Nigerian officials in Tel Aviv and Tehran have already begun working with citizens in the affected areas to ensure their safety.
The ministry praised their efforts in staying connected with Nigerians facing the crisis.
Authorities say the evacuation process is being carried out in partnership with international agencies and local bodies to make sure those at risk are returned quickly and safely.
Meanwhile, the government has again called for a stop to the violence and urged all groups involved in the fight to turn to peaceful dialogue.
Nigeria also called for the safety of civilians to be a priority during the ongoing conflict.
