Indications have emerged that the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, may name various standing committees of the senate today following the successful screening of all ministerial nominees before adjourning for a-two month recess.
The ministerial screening was concluded on Tuesday after screening the immediate past Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed.
However, there are fear of uncertainties as to who gets what, as investigation by Starnews revealed that the President of the Senate is likely to make announcement of Senate standing committees before members would proceed on their two-month annual recess which is likely to begin tomorrow or Thursday this week.
Starnews learnt that Mr. Lawan is contending with lot of pressure from those who want to head one committee or another, thereby, planning to ease himself of unnecessary pressure by announcing the committees before going on recess.
Senators were sighted at the hallowed chamber chatting one another as the atmosphere is charged following expectation of the news of standing committees to be pronounced by Lawan.
