FCT PDP endorses Saraki’s 2023 Presidential bid

The Federal Capital Territory chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, on Saturday, endorsed former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, as its preferred presidential candidate for the 2023 elections.

Saraki’s adoption came on the heels of similar endorsements by the Benue, Nasarawa and Niger states chapters within the last seven days.

Shortly before the announcement, party leaders from the FCT observed that the PDP needs a candidate from the North Central to win the 2023 Presidency.

They argued that the North Central zone deserves a shot at the presidency because, despite the immense sacrifice made by sons and daughters of the zone in order to build the PDP, restore and sustain democracy since 1999, no one from the zone has been considered for the top job.

During the endorsement meeting, a chieftain of the party from the FCT, Alhaji Ogah Doma, moved the motion for the adoption of Saraki as the choice of the North Central for the PDP Presidential ticket; the motion was seconded and unanimously adopted by all present.

Those at the meeting included PDP stalwarts such as the FCT PDP chairman, Sunday Zakka, Senator Sulaiman Adokwe, and Dr Musa Ahmadu amongst others.

Those currently jostling for the PDP ticket include; former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Governors Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto) and Bala Mohammed (Sokoto).
