‘Fast and Pray For Akeredolu’, State Director Urges Ondo Residents

A top civil servant in Ondo State and a director in the state ministry has called on the good people of Ondo State to fast and pray for Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu who is currently facing health challenges.

On inquiry, the director who spoke under the condition of anonymity confirmed to Starnews Nigeria on Thursday that the Governor’s health has deteriorated as rumoured on social media.

He said the family is currently helpless after the governor’s wife, Mrs Betty Akeredolu has done everything medically possible to restore her husband’s health to no avail.

The director begged the citizens of the state to embark on fasting and prayers for divine healing and quick recovery of the governor. He however denied knowledge of the governor being bedridden and incapacitated as reported by a Medium (NOT Starnews).

When contacted by Starnews Nigeria to know if the governor’s health is deteriorating and if he is truly bedridden and incapacitated as reported, he said, “My brother, I can’t lie to you, our governor is very sick. He is not feeling fine at all. The situation is far from better. The family is helpless and seems to have resigned to fate. The family led by his wife has done everything medically possible to restore him but all to no avail” he added.

Is he truly bedridden and incapacitated? When confronted with the question again, he said, “Please don’t quote me, I don’t know if he is currently bedridden. I never can tell if he is no more active. But I can tell you that Mr Governor is very sick and need our prayers. All is not well.
He needs our prayers like never before. The citizens should please fast and pray for him. The doctors are mere agents, God is our Healer and He is merciful. If we all could fast and pray for his healing, I believe God can restore him”, he stressed.

Meanwhile, Mr Richard Olatunde, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, had on January this year allayed the fear of the people of the state over the health condition of the governor.

Olatunde, in a statement he issued confirmed that the governor had some health challenges like any other human being but said he was receiving treatment to recover quickly.

He however kept mum on the viral voice note by the governor’s wife, Betty, who called out one of the governor’s female aides who she warned to stay away from her husband and stop supplying him with concoctions.
