A tragic bee attack on a farm in Osun State has claimed the life of a farmer, Mr. Abideen Olabiyi, while two others sustained serious injuries. The incident occurred on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Olobe Farm in Igbajo, with the Otan Ayegbaju Police Division confirming the report the following day.
The injured men, Mr. Solomon Kingsley and Chief Olusegun Alalade, both from the Alalade Compound in Ada, were also caught in the swarm but managed to survive. They were promptly rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
According to a police statement, the incident was reported by Mr. Babasanjo Alalade, a relative of the victims. The three men were reportedly working on the farm when the bees attacked. Sadly, Mr. Olabiyi died from the injuries, while the other two managed to escape with significant injuries.
The deceased’s body was transported to the Healthy Paradise Mortuary in Ikirun for an autopsy, and the two survivors are currently receiving treatment for their injuries.
