Erelu Oodua Installs CCTV Cameras to Enhance Security in Ode Aye

In a move to strengthen security, a United States-based businesswoman and custodian of Yoruba traditional history, Erelu Tinuade Mabel Onaneye, has installed 360-degree CCTV cameras in Ode Aye, an ancient town in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The surveillance system, positioned at strategic locations, is aimed at preventing crime, enhancing public safety, monitoring movements, and assisting law enforcement in investigations.

It is also expected to deter criminals, reduce theft, vandalism, and cult-related violence, while addressing concerns over other social vices affecting the area.

Community leaders described the initiative as a timely response to security challenges, expressing confidence that it would help track suspicious activities, enable swift responses to emergencies, and reassure residents of their safety.

Residents welcomed the installation, noting that it could restore confidence in local security, attract investment, and create a safer environment for businesses and daily activities.

Onaneye’s gesture underscores the impact of diaspora contributions to community development, highlighting the role individuals can play in supporting security efforts and fostering progress at the grassroots level.
