#Endsars: Use of live ammunition on protesters barbaric, evil, says Gboluga

Ondo State Lawmaker at the green chamber of the National Assembly, Hon. Gboluga Ikengboju, has condemned the use of live ammunition by security agencies on Nigerian youths protesting against police brutality across Nigeria.

Gboluga, the lawmaker representing Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency made this known on Wednesday by Oyeniyi Iwakun, his Media Aide.

The deputy governorship candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just concluded governorship election in Ondo State said the use of live ammunition on defenceless and innocent Nigerian youths is barbaric and cruel.

”Hon. Ikengboju Gboluga noted with dismay the reports of killings and sponsored attacks across the country, the latest being the Lekki and Abuja massacres by unguarded army officers on defenceless protesters who have so far being well coordinated and modest in their agitations in conformity with the laws of the land.”

”These acts by the security agents are not only inhumane, but barbaric, undemocratic, cruel, unprofessional, unpatriotic and height of wickedness.”

”Security agencies have the sole mandate to protect lives and properties of Nigerians including the protesters and not spilling their blood. Moreso, that their agitations are premised on “security brutalities”, the Lawmaker said.

Starnews Nigeria reports that youths across Nigeria are currently on the streets protesting the decades of harassment from the police and the army especially against the brutality of a particular police unit known as Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

The Ondo Lawmaker identifies with the youths at this trying time and commiserated with the families and friends of the fallen heroes, adding however, that their demands will be attended to by the government as he advised protesters to be wary of hoodlums who may want to hijack the struggle to perpetuate their evil plans.
