Elon Musk on Wednesday said he went too far with some of the things he posted about Donald Trump last week.
The billionaire businessman and CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and Starlink made this known through a short post on X, formerly Twitter.
His message came after a few days of open conflict with the former U.S. president, sparked by Musk’s criticism of Trump’s tax policies and his online activity that referred to Trump’s impeachment.
Musk later removed that part of his post.
This public disagreement caught attention, especially after Trump responded with a threat that he might review government contracts involving Musk’s companies.
That tension seems to have cooled down slightly, as Trump recently spoke more calmly about Musk during a press briefing, saying he wished him well.
Musk, who once said he helped the Republican Party during past elections and had floated the idea of starting a new party, has not replied to Trump’s latest comments.
However, his post on Wednesday suggests he may be trying to reduce the tension.
