Less than 48 hours to the APC governorship primary in Ondo State, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has invited one of the leading governorship aspirants in the election and the former Commissioner for finance in the state, Wale Akinterinwa.

A report from the Commission says the invitation is connected to allegations of fraud involving him and six others, Starnews NG reports.

Sources from the EFCC also revealed that Akintenrinwa is going to answer questions on the state’s Two Billion Naira kept in a generational bank with interest for over 15 years discovered by an agent, which he allegedly diverted to himself.

A close source at the Commission’s office hinted at Starnews NG that Akinterinwa will also answer questions over a withdrawal of over N7 Billion Naira within the last two weeks traceable to him.

When contacted, Mr Akinterinwa can’t be reached on phone for his reaction. One of his aides told our Correspondent on inquiry that he is very busy with his campaign ahead of the party’s primary slated for Saturday, April 20, 2024.
