Ebonyi Governor Announces ₦150,000 Christmas Bonus for Workers

By Our Correspondent

The Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has unveiled a ₦150,000 Christmas bonus for all state civil servants.

The announcement, shared through his spokesperson, Monday Uzor, ensures that the bonus will be disbursed before December 17, 2024.

This follows the governor’s earlier approval of a ₦75,000 minimum wage in October, which marked a significant pay increase for the workforce.

Civil servants on grade level 2 now earn the full ₦75,000, while those on higher levels receive additional incremental adjustments.

The bonus is seen as a gesture to ease the financial burden on workers during the festive season, reflecting ongoing efforts to improve employee welfare in the state.
