Detractors after me to cause disaffection in Ondo PDP — Fatai Adams

Hon. Fatai Adams, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Ondo State chapter, has disclosed that detractors are after him to cause disaffection in the party.

Some PDP leaders in the state including members of the state executives had said that the leadership of the party in the state headed by Mr Fatai Adams cannot take PDP to its promised land in the 2024 governorship election.

They insisted that Hon Fatai Adam must resign to make the PDP a viable opposition party capable to challenge the candidate of APC come 2024, amid allegations of leadership failure and anti-party activities leveled against him.

They also alleged that Fatai Adams is on the payroll of Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, a member of the Federal House of Representatives in Abuja, representing Akoko North East/Akoko North West Federal Constituency of Ondo State and the current Ministerial Nominee of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for Ondo State.

However, Fatal Adams in a statement issued on Friday said all the allegations against him were untrue, false, baseless and without factual foundation.

He explained that the allegations were fabricated by detractors eyeing his seat to cause disaffection and crises in Ondo PDP ahead of the 2024 governorship poll. Adding that he is not on the payroll of Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo or anyone.

He said; “I am not the cause of PDP’s failure in Ondo State in the last 2023 general elections. I could not have caused the party’s failure across all the units, wards, constituencies, LGs, Senatorial District and Ondo State at large.

“Winning any election is a collective responsibility of every member of the party. If other stakeholders had done what I did in my local government and Senatorial district, the mass failure could have been avoided

“The allegations against me were untrue, false, baseless and without factual foundation. They were fabricated by detractors eyeing my seat to cause disaffection and crises in Ondo PDP ahead of the 2024 governorship poll.

“I Promised to continue to do my best to reposition the party in Ondo State,” he said.
