Dankwambo, FFK, Feel Concern Over Earth Tremor In Abuja

Authorities of the Federal Capital Territory Administration have confirmed an Earth tremor in parts of the Nation’s Capital.
According to AIT report, the Incident which is the second in the Territory in five years saw the vibration and movement of the Earth in Mpape and parts of Maitama District off the Kubwa expressway.

Following this development, Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo and Chief Femi Fanikayode have reacted this morning throug a separate tweets.

Dankwambo wrote: “I have been following the conversation on the earth tremors in our Nation’s capital. I urge everyone to stay safe and calm. I strongly believe that the appropriate authorities are monitoring the situation and will advise on measures when the need arises.”

Fani-Kayode said: “For the third day running there have been earth tremors in Maitama, Abuja. There was one on wed. evening and this morning at 6.10am my wife and I felt another. The authorities must take this matter very seriously and prepare for the worst. When an earthquake strikes many die. ”

Meanwhile, the Director-general, FCT Emergency Management Agency, Abbas Idris who acknowledged reports of the Earth Tremor however assured Members of the Public not to Panic.

The Earth tremor which last occurred in the Nation’s Capital in 2013 also follows a Minor Earth Quake in Neighbouring Kaduna State in 2016
