The Federal High Court in Lagos granted bail to music producer Ezekiel Onyedikachi, known in the entertainment world as EeZeeTee.
He is facing allegations from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over a foreign exchange transaction said to be worth $255,000.
The court granted bail in the sum of ₦20 million.
The judge, Chukwujekwu Aneke, directed that one person must stand as surety.
That person must live in Lagos and own a property valued at the same amount as the bail.
EeZeeTee was earlier handed over to his lawyer temporarily while the court gave him 72 hours to meet the bail conditions.
The EFCC had first filed 14 charges against him but later reduced them to seven.
The commission accused EeZeeTee of carrying out foreign exchange transactions without the required license from the Central Bank of Nigeria.
According to what was presented in court, EeZeeTee allegedly carried out a foreign exchange transaction in June 2023 with a man named Oladotun Olaobaju Mureke.
The amount involved was $52,895. The EFCC believes this act breaks the rules of the Foreign Exchange Act and should be punished under the country’s law.
EeZeeTee denied all the charges in court.
The judge fixed June 20, 2025, for the trial to begin.
