The Federal High Court in Abuja has postponed the ruling on the bail request of Yahaya Bello, former Governor of Kogi State, to December 10.
Bello, along with co-defendants Umar Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu, is facing a 16-count charge from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), related to an alleged N110bn fraud. Bello pleaded not guilty to all charges during his court appearance.
After the charges were read, Bello’s lawyer, Joseph Daudu, presented a motion for bail.
However, the EFCC’s legal representative, Kemi Pinheiro, argued that the bail request was outdated, as it was filed after the October deadline.
Daudu clarified that the bail motion, filed on November 22, was the only valid one before the court. The defendants will remain in EFCC custody until the ruling.
