The Federal Government of Nigeria has set aside N80 billion to upgrade facilities in 100 Unity Schools across the country.
This decision was revealed by the Minister of State for Education during an unplanned visit to Federal Government College in Kano.
The visit aimed to check the current state of the schools’ buildings, leadership, and the welfare of the students.
Officials also used the opportunity to review the quality of teaching and learning, ensuring the schools offer a better environment for both students and teachers.
The government plans to strengthen cooperation between school authorities and policymakers to solve problems and improve the schools’ infrastructure.
In addition, a new digital platform is being developed to support teacher training nationwide.
This platform will allow teachers to improve their skills and access educational materials from any location, helping raise the standard of education in Unity Schools.
The minister also toured the Federal Government Girls’ College in Kazaure as part of this effort.
