A human right activist and constitutional lawyer, Barr. Bimpe Olatemiju, on Monday, commended the two Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senators in Ondo State, Nicolas Tofowomo and Ayo Akinyelure for supporting Chief Eddy Olafeso for the position of National Vice Chairman Southwest PDP ahead of the Zonal Congress of the party next year.
Olatemiju equally commended the two Lawmakers for their positive impact on the democratic process and community development in Ondo State through different facilitation impact projects and empowerment programmes for the youths and women of the State.
Starnews Nigeria had reported on December 22, 2020, that the two Senators elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Nicholas Tofowomo (Ondo South) and Ayo Akinyelure (Ondo Central) with some notable leaders of the party from Ondo State have promised to elect Dr Eddy Olafeso for the position of the National Vice chairman and support other candidates presented by the group of Dr Ayodele Fayose, former governor of Ekiti State ahead of the zonal congress of the party on January 2021.
Speaking shortly after the centenary of Ebenezer Anglican Communion, Diocese on the Coast in Ilutitun, Olatemiju, prayed for peace in the country and seek for divine intervention over the high level of insecurity in the country.
While calling for genuine reconciliation in the PDP among warring factions in Nigeria, the Lawyer asked the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde to sheath his sword and allow peace to reign in the southwest chapter of the party.
Olatemiju, a former Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has also joined the array of notable PDP Leaders to pass a vote of confidence on Fayose.
