EU to invest €37m in Nigeria’s Power sector
The European Union plans to invest €37m in Nigeria’s struggling power sector, the EU Ambassador to Nigeria, Samuela Isopi, disclosed. According to a statement issued by the power ministry on Friday, Isopi disclosed this during a visit to the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu. The proposed €37m investment differed from grants of about €200m invested in the sector by the European Union since 2008. BREAKING: UK economy slips into recession
The UK economy has slipped into recession as households cut back on spending in response to soaring interest rates and rising cos of living. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said gross domestic product (GDP) fell by a larger than expected 0.3% in the three months to December after a decline in all main sectors of the economy and a collapse in retail sales in the run-up to Christmas. The United States National Transportation Safety Board, NTSB, has provided pictures of the location where the helicopter carrying Access Holdings Chief Executive Officer, Herbert Wigwe crashed.
