BREAKING: Renowned businessman, Aminu Dantata passes away at 94

Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, a respected Kano-based businessman and philanthropist, has passed away at the age of 94.

His death was confirmed on Saturday by his Principal Private Secretary, Mustapha Abdullahi Junaid, in a heartfelt post shared on Facebook.

“With a heavy heart, I announce the passing of our beloved father, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata. May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus,” Junaid wrote, adding that details of his funeral rites will be communicated in due course.

Dantata, a towering figure in Nigeria’s business landscape, was the founder of Express Petroleum & Gas Company Ltd.

He also held deep family ties with the Dangote family, being a brother to the grandfather of Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote.
