Hon. Aminu Dan Hamidu, the newly elected chairman of Bakori Local Government Area in Katsina State, has passed away just two months after taking office.
He was 45 years old. Hamidu, who started his tenure in April 2025, died on Monday, June 9, 2025.
The exact cause of death has not been confirmed, but there are reports indicating that he had been suffering from illness for some time before his death.
The news was confirmed by Kaula Mohammed, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda.
In his statement, Governor Radda expressed deep sadness over the loss, remembering Hamidu as a dedicated public servant and a loyal member of the ruling party.
The governor described Hamidu as a humble leader who always prioritized his community’s welfare.
His commitment to public service and his quiet approach to leadership made a lasting impact, despite his short time in office.
Governor Radda extended condolences to the family of the late chairman, the people of Bakori, and all members of the APC across the state.
The governor also prayed for Hamidu’s forgiveness and eternal peace, asking for Allah to grant him a place in Aljannatul Firdausi.
