Breaking: PDP NWC Dumps Anyanwu, Endorses Koshoedo as Acting National Secretary

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has approved the recommendation of the PDP Governors’ Forum for the Deputy National Secretary, Architect Setonji Koshoedo, to assume the role of Acting National Secretary of the party.

The decision was taken at the end of the NWC meeting held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in Abuja.

Briefing journalists after the meeting, the Acting National Chairman of the party, Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagun, revealed that the NWC had resolved to adopt the position of the governors in relation to the party’s secretariat leadership.

Damagun noted that the decision to appoint Koshoedo in an acting capacity would be communicated to the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) for ratification.

He added that the NEC meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, 2025, in line with the governors’ recommendation.

With this development, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, who had hitherto laid claim to the office, has been officially displaced, as the party moves to stabilise its internal structure.
