By: Bayero Ade

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the expulsion of Ikenga Ugochinyere, the House of Representatives member for Ideato North/Ideato South Federal Constituency in Imo State.

The decision was disclosed on Friday by the Imo PDP Publicity Secretary, Lancelot Obiak, who accused the lawmaker of engaging in anti-party activities, insubordination, and gross indiscipline.

A letter dated December 5, 2024, and signed by Ideato LGA PDP Chairman, ThankGod Okeke, and Secretary, Onyebuchi Umeh, communicated the expulsion to the Imo State PDP leadership. The expulsion was reportedly based on a disciplinary committee’s findings submitted on November 27, 2024, which reviewed allegations of misconduct in accordance with the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended), specifically Section 57 (1-4).

Ugochinyere, who also serves as the spokesperson for the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), has not issued a statement regarding his expulsion as of this report.
