  •  Arapaja screened in Abuja
  •  Crisis looms as Oyinlola set for showdown

Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in the southwest, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, has joined the race for the party’s deputy national chairmanship position.

Starnews Nigeria gathered that Arapaja was among the Aspirants screened for the position ahead of the forthcoming National Convention of the PDP in Abuja on Wednesday by the party’s screening committee.

Governor Seyi Makinde was said to have dumped former governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola for alleged lack of trust.

A reliable source who hinted at Starnews Nigeria on Wednesday evening said Governor Makinde is not comfortable with Oyinlola for the exalted position because he could not trust him after abandoning the party for the All Progressives Congress, APC, at a time he was needed most.

Starnews Nigeria reports that crisis is currently looming in the S’West PDP as Oyinlola, the former military governor of Lagos State has reportedly told a close associate of his intention to fight back if he loses out to Arapaja in the race.
