Breaking: Gov Akeredolu Presses To Get PDP Guber Ticket Ahead of 2020 Election

Having fear that what happened to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State may likely happen to him, Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has started romancing the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as alternative political platform to realise his second term ambition, should in case, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) fails to field him as the gubernatorial candidate of the party in 2020 election in Ondo State.

Investigation conducted by Starnews revealed that governor Akeredolu has begun negotiation with the National Working Committee of the PDP in Abuja for a soft landing.

Starnews reported recently how governor Akeredolu was suspended by the APC National Working Committee (NWC) over glaring anti party activities.

Though the suspension was denied by the governor, but Starnews gathered from multiple sources that governor Akeredolu was actually suspended by the APC after the committee set up to look into his case submitted their report and recommend him for suspension.

His recent suspension might not be unconnected with his recent romance with the opposition PDP.

A very prominent member of the PDP National Working Committee who spoke to Starnews under the condition of anonymity, said governor Akeredolu may join the PDP soon if he reaches agreement with the party to fly their gubernatorial flag in 2020 election in Ondo State.

According to him, “Akeredolu has held series of meeting with the National Working Committee of the PDP, demanding for automatic ticket to realise his dream for second term in office – a condition which did not go down well with the leadership of PDP according to the source.
