BREAKING: APC Expels Aregbesola for Alleged Anti-Party Activities

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially expelled former Minister of Interior and ex-Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola over alleged anti-party activities.

Aregbesola, who served as Osun State Governor for two terms, was the leader of a faction within the APC known as The Osun Progressives, which later rebranded itself as the Omoluabi Caucus.

A letter from the APC leadership, which was seen by newsmen on Wednesday, confirmed Aregbesola’s expulsion.

Titled “Allegations of Anti-Party Activities – Conveyance of State Exco Decision,” the letter accused him of violating Article 21 of the party’s constitution, which outlines the disciplinary measures for members.

The letter stated: “Following the investigation, the State Executive Committee (SEC) reviewed the Disciplinary Committee’s report. After careful consideration of the findings and recommendations, the SEC has resolved to approve your immediate expulsion from the APC.

“This decision is based on clear evidence of your actions, which have undermined the unity and integrity of the party. Consequently, you are no longer a member of the APC and must refrain from representing yourself as one or acting on behalf of the party in any capacity.”

Aregbesola’s expulsion came after a meeting of the Omoluabi Caucus, presided over by him on Sunday, during which the group announced its decision to leave the APC, citing the party’s declining influence in Osun.

There are times when people unknowingly expel the Iroko of a party recklessly and on the long run, may affect the party. It could have been better in Osun to seriously warn him,if found with double standard. I don’t know Aregbesola at all, but he’s one of those that supported the party overtime.
