BREAKING: Aiyedatiwa Nominates 12 New Commissioners for Ondo

The Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has submitted a list of 12 nominees for the position of Commissioner in the State Executive Council to the Ondo State House of Assembly for confirmation.

In a letter addressed to the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, dated June 12, 2025, the governor invoked his authority under Section 192 (1&2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), to forward the nominees for the esteemed assembly’s consideration.

The nominees are as follows:

  1. Professor Igbekele Ajibefun
  2. Engr. Aycrinde Abiola Olawoye
  3. Hon. Ayodele Akande
  4. Engr. Alabi Johnson
  5. Alhaji Amidu Takuro
  6. Otunba Adewale Akinlosotu
  7. Mr. Idowu Ajanaku
  8. Dr. Oluwaseun Abosede Osamaye
  9. Dr. Tob Loko
  10. Mr. Olaolu Akindolire
  11. Hon. Sunday Olajide
  12. Mr. Omoyofunmi Segun Henry

In the letter, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his hope for the House’s swift action on this request, emphasizing the importance of these appointments for the overall interest of Ondo State.

“I shall be most obliged to the Honourable House for your expeditious action on this request in the overall interest of our dear State,” the governor stated.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, underscored the significance of these nominations as part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and enhance the effectiveness of the state’s executive council.

As the House of Assembly prepares to review the nominees, stakeholders in Ondo State are keenly awaiting the confirmation process and the subsequent contributions these individuals will bring to the administration under Governor Aiyedatiwa.
