Be Wary of Yahoo Boys, Police Warn Ladies in Osun

The Osun State Police Command has issued a warning to residents, particularly women, about the rising threat posed by internet fraudsters, known as yahoo boys, who have extended their criminal activities to include ritual killings.

In a statement signed by the command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, it was revealed that these fraudsters have escalated their operations to involve ritualistic practices.

Opalola noted that yahoo boys have been using various deceptive tactics to lure victims, mainly women, into secluded locations where they are killed, and their body parts harvested for rituals.

“Osun State Police Command is using this medium to caution members of the public, especially young girls, about the activities of internet fraudsters popularly known as Yahoo Boys,” the statement read. “This warning/advice is necessary as the command has observed disturbing techniques and dimensions in the operations of these fraudsters in our society. They have resorted to ritualistic practices, plotting to lure and murder unsuspecting victims, primarily women, to harvest their body parts for ritual purposes.”

Opalola emphasised the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and visitors to the state.

She assured the public that the police would continue to work diligently to apprehend and prosecute anyone involved in criminal activities.
